PEOPLE! It’s time to boss up in your smart casual looks…
Gone are the days of having to conform to the boring restrictions of cliché untailored, unstylish and uncomfortable suits or dresses.
There’s a revolution upon us and you’re part of it! Yes, you!
Now you may be thinking, what revolution? What’s Sul talking about… Well, my friend, it’s the revolution of the stylish boss. The male or female, who can keep it casual and still be ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’.
I think we’ve all got that ‘Rick Ross voice’ inside our heads saying ‘B*tch I’m a boss’. Whether you’re more introvert or extrovert, you’ve definitely got a boss mentality inside you.
Here are 3 tips to keep your outfits casual and bring out your boss mentality…
The fit matters – get it tailored
One of the most important aspects of dressing like a boss is the fit. No matter if it’s your casual looks or your full on dinner suits, the fit always matters!
You could be the most meticulous person in the world, but if you walk into a room wearing a baggy, untailored and unshaped outfit you’re not doing yourself any favors.
Having your clothes personalized to your body shape will instantly change your posture, allowing you to come across more confident, self-assured and well mannered. (Dressing well is a form of good manners – Tom Ford)
So, ask your friends where they get their clothes tailored or, Reiss provide a tailoring service so ask a member of staff about it next time you visit a store.
Perfecting your smart casual outfit – The key pieces
Once you’ve nailed down the tailoring, everything gets much easier. Turning your formal looks into casual yet professional outfits only require minor changes.
Firstly, ditch your shoes for some trainers. Be sure to select the right type of trainer, I’d advise on a minimal low top trainer. I’m currently wearing Givenchy Classic Low-Tops, but check out Common Projects or Adidas Stan Smiths.
Secondly, trade in the blazer for a bomber. Having a well-crafted bomber jacket is a perfect piece for both your smart and laid-back looks. I’m wearing the new Reiss Menswear Grey Suede Bomber jacket, which has a clean, classic, yet edgy feel allowing it to cross over effortlessly between your smart or casual outfits.
Become the Wolf
The last piece of advice is to start believing you are a boss! Don’t let anyone stop you from reaching your goals. ‘The show must always go on’…if you don’t believe me, watch the video below…
