The 5 most uncommon reasons why you need to run more outdoors
Oh hey! So, if you’re reading this then I know you’re serious about running! Yup, you’re on the verge of competing intentionally and you just want some advice from some random black guy on Instagram!
Great, you’ve come to the right destination!
So! Running! The process of moving one’s legs in front of the other at a speed faster than walking.
Why should you do it?
I don’t want to give you the boring answers like OMG! You’ll feel so much more health, OMG! You’ll totally lose weight, OMG! You’ll be able to post on your social media and let the world know how freking great you are because you just ran 1K (thumbs up)!
No, for this post I want to give you 5 of the most uncommon reasons why you need to run outdoors.
You’ll get the best ideas
Yes! Whilst you lavishly glide through your outdoor run you will notice something magical starts to happen. Instead of thinking about the pain in your quads you’ll drift into a new realm of creativity!
All of a sudden, you’ve got a creative solution to solving that problem at work, developing a new project, improving your tinder profile, so you get more swipes (please share your knowledge haha). In all seriousness, the more you run outdoors, you’ll be surprised by some of the creative ideas that come to mind.
Look, child, you glow
We all want nice looking skin, well most of us anyway! Unfortunately for some (me included), we’re not blessed with beautiful Vogue or GQ worthy skin, so we have to find alternatives.
Running outdoors gives your skin the opportunity to breathe, take in the air and feel revitalized! (Revitalised, I sound like a proper beauty blogger now).
Blow off steam
You know those days when someone has just pissed you right off! Like, your partner won’t pick up their dirty underwear that has been on the floor for days with that sly shit stain in the middle (haha – that good ole shit stain)!
Or someone at work has just been getting on your nerves this whole week. Throw on your running gear, hit the streets and clock up those miles. This will help you release all that negative energy, find your chi and realize that that person is actually just a DICK! I joke, I joke!
The next Einstein
Ok, maybe not the next Einstein but running outside is definitely going to help stimulate your mind, getting more oxygen into your brain which can only have a positive impact on your brain function. TBH, don’t quote me one that, that’s just what I’ve experienced personally :).
Boring science stuff
I know, I said uncommon benefits, but this is a great one to include! Running outdoors will help you live longer! Now, I’m sure we’d all like to get a future extra year under our belt, so why not cheat the system and go for a run!
Until next time 🙂
